Current year on November 28, request of the Bible Society of Uzbekistan in the Committee of Religious Affairs was held a meeting with a delegation from Ukraine, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in activities related to the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

As you know, November 27, 2017 in the building of the Academic Russian Drama Theater hosted a solemn event dedicated to the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, jointly organized by the Biblical Society of Uzbekistan and the Center for Full Gospel Christians. The program of the event included congratulations of representatives of religious organizations of the Republic and guests invited from neighboring countries, musical works performed by the Turkiston Chamber Orchestra and the State Choir Chapel, as well as short videos on the impact of the Reformation in various spheres of society.

Welcoming the guests, the Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs A.Yusupov emphasized that the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation was a continuation of those bright events that are held throughout the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and will mark the further development of interethnic harmony and interreligious tolerance.

The senior bishop of the Ukrainian church of Evangelical Christians, Mikhail Panochko, expressing his gratitude for creating conditions for such a large-scale event.

Head of the All-Ukrainian Union of Churches of Evangelical Christians of Baptists Valeriy, also thanking the Committee of Religious Affairs for the assistance in holding the solemn event, said that his scope was indeed very surprising.

General Secretary of the Bible Society of Uzbekistan Halmat Ashirov, speaking about the process of preparation and holding of the event, said that he himself did not expect such attention from state bodies and from religious confessions. Speaking about the event itself, he said that all of his essence and content contained precisely the presence of religious tolerance between representatives of different faiths and beliefs.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, in which the Deputy Secretary General of the Ukrainian Biblical Society Anatoly Raichinets and the Consultant of the Committee on Religious Affairs B. Kadirov also took part.
